I used to provide a list of songs that I cover here, but I figure a little background is probably better!

I'd say that I play Roots Rock 'n Roll or maybe even just good ol' Rock 'n Roll. Most of my repertoire is not recognizable by your average everyday music fan. I gather the majority of my material from non-major label, non-big music industry acts because that is typically what I love. My connection with Russ Gordon and Gordon's Concerts through the years has turned me on to some killer bands that are out there touring in a van and doing what they love. I've also found some great old rockabilly from the Deca vaults that were picked up by Bear Family Records that I love to play.

Fans of the roots band the Paladins will recognize that 30-50% of my sets on any given night will be material from their albums. The reason for this is that they are my favorite band and Dave Gonzalez has provided me with most of my inspiration to play guitar although there are many others as well (Nick Curran & Duke Robillard to name but a few). Truthfully, most of my attention has been paid to studying Dave's style. I am nowhere close to approaching him in his greatness on the guitar but I try. I think I fake it pretty well on most nights.

The first Paladins album I ever heard is this one:

Lets Buzz

It was lent to me by a fellow by the name of "S-Mike", and I'll never forget him for that!

The Paladins albums that are available at Amazon are rather limited, but it's a good starting place if you're interested in getting some of their stuff. If you would like to find more, email me and I'll hook you up with resources.

Dave's Current project, the Stone River Boys is available here. It lines him up with Mike Barfield who is the Texas Tyrant of Funk!.
